The cool thing is, it can use EXIF shooting date and time from image files as input for renaming those files!

@gusp Haha. Thanks for the icon-info. I was wondering about that.

to bitnix, I think it's supposed to illustrate the same thing as the eyedropper in indesign and it's just as confusing. it stands for taking an attribute from one item and applying it to another, in this case a name.

Been using this for years now, and the latest version (8.0) is just perfect. All issues I had with 7.0 are completely addressed.

Never had much use for this until I began dealing with imported photos. Now it's a life saver. (also for changing the extensions to a website full of pages)

Note: version 7 for Tiger is included in the 8.0.7 dmg file.

Good application. I'm not a huge fan of the interface philosophy, but when it comes to option for renaming, there is nothing better out there.

Even though it shouldn't matter, for me, it does.

I have to say, despite the fact that I believe A Better Finder Rename's functionality is great, the one major thing holding me back from this product is the application icon. I could never figure out what it's meant to illustrate...

I like this renamer a lot, it allows you to create a multi step set of rules for a bathc rename, and then allows you to create a droplet out of it.
