AcidSearch

Version: 0.6.2 || Release Date: 2008-10-19 || License: Freeware App Owner: kohlmannj

AcidSearch is a search enhancement for Safari. It adds unlimited "Search Channels" to the Google search field. Channels can be customized in a nearly infinite variety of ways. AcidSearch also includes powerful features such as JavaScript support, the ability to import iSeek and Butler Search Sites, true hierarchical menu organization, and the ability to search multiple search engines at the same time. AcidSearch also allows you to access your search channels with key equivalents, shortcuts (a la SafariKeywords), and a contextual menu.

Ooops....sorry.....the below comment was meant for glim.
I have tried acidsearch and think it's great too, but ignore my previous statement re:affiliate links :)

(I wish we could re-edit our comments for a day or so rather than a mere 300s here at iusethis, but hey ho....)

Very good alternative to inquisitor. Be aware that the links given to Amazon are affiliate links for the developers ......unlike Inquisitor though, these authors are completely honest and open about this fact in their homepage....so a big thumbsup there too :).

When updating to Inquisitor 3.0.49, UNINSTALL will not work.

I used to use this, but once I realized I couldn't use the delete button for a "back" shortcut because of the search as you type feature, I uninstalled it. Until it replaces Apple+F, I'll stick with Safari's default search.

Great addition to Safari! Seems to be an a problem with it occasionaly doubling the items in its menu. Also, on my intel imac, "find as you type" feature caused page-up/down keys to stop working as well as the cmd-arrow combos. Other than that its an excellent addition!
