Address Book is especially great for freelancers and others who work from home and need to print labels in order to send out a mass mailing.

I like this address book and I like that it can be extended using plugins. But I still miss the ability to add more user-defined fields e.g. in the instant messenger aerea.

AddressBook is a very basic application. It does the job. But for a real contact manager where you can links information and organize in different ways, i strongly advice Contactizer Pro (http://www.objective-decision.com)

I like Apple's Address Book because of the seamless integration with most of apps. Also being able to sync my contacts into my phone using iSync is saving me valuable time.

The lack of support for some (newer) phones is a small limit though.

Try synchronizing AddressBook with Plaxo service (plaxo.com). Works quite well.

I use it due to the seamless integration with Mail. My favourite function: copying photos of my contacts into Adress Book and seeing this photo when I get a mail of one of them. That's lovely.

I use this because of the smooth intergration with Mail and iSync (to my mobile.)

The information can be accessed directly, remotely (via .Mac), through a Dashboard Widget or also vocally using speech recognition (ie: "What is the home phone number for John Smith?").
