Adobe don't care about sites like iusethis
but there is a preview of the next bloatware version 1.8.1 available
so maybe 1.7.2 should no longer be held on this site
Stands in a long tradtion of bloated, buggy applications from Adobe.
The (clean) interface is quite nice. But that's the only good thing.
-The app is based on Flash, so it's a resource hog (flip a few pages and you'll see the cpu fan spike).
-No font anti-aliasing. That's a HUGE problem.
-Bunch of DRM crap.
Adobe says it is a "lightweight" app meant for reading. Well... lightweight only in size (a few MB). Responsiveness from a GB app.
I found this very difficult to use. Compared with other ebook solutions available (e.g. eReader, Stanza), it's extremely clumsy and counter-intuitive. The download-to-read process, in particular, is ridiculously awkward. Note: Stanza will read and convert a wide range of ebook formats. Calibre also converts many formats.
Ugly as heck and not a native Mac program but hey there is no proper .epub management program available until Apple hopefully integrates it into iTunes.
This is really useful for PDF-based comic books!
