AntiWordService is a free filter service that enables any Cocoa application capable of reading plain text (such as TextEdit or DEVONthink Personal) to open Microsoft Word documents. The actual conversion is done by the command line utility 'antiword;' only plain text is preserved (images and formatting are not retained).

This is a great timesaver whenever people send you Word DOCs containing just little text information, no need to fire up the huge word processor. Certainly bloated layouts get messed up...
