Everybody loves the drag and drop nature of OS X. Drag an app into your applications folder, and it's installed. You'd think it would be that easy to delete an app - just a matter of dragging it to the trash. But it's not. Applications install preferences, caches, and other support files throughout your computer that take up space and generate clutter. Deleting these by hand every time you delete an app is a pain.

This application jumped the shark when the automater stopped working in Leopard. AppCleaner is a superior, and free, alternative.
This used to be my favorite, but has now been replaced by AppCleaner which although was buggy and too flashy in the past, is now a rock solid contender with a very handy SmartDelete feature. My suggestion is to try them both out before you decide on either one.
I used to use this until I bought Hazel. Hazel will do the same thing with its app sweep.
Appdelete is a good uninstaller top, and it is FREE!!
Still think this is a solid app. It was the first real contender in un-installers, and don't forget it does: preference panes; widgets; screensavers, etc too
I thought AppZapper was indispensable – until I found AppTrap. Now I can delete an application with +backspace without worries.
Has become a must-have piece of software for me. While it works 95% of the time, there's been a rare few occasions where it has failed to pick everything up. Still great though.
Well, I have to say this works flawlessly. Allowed me to safely delete application I had been to afraid to touch for months.
I like this app. Sure, I could use Spotlight, but using AppZapper gives me a warm & fuzzy by easily purging my system of the app residue that makes my mac feel all icky inside. Yeah I wash my hands 30 times a day. So what?
