BBC iPlayer Desktop

Version: 3.2.15 || Release Date: 2012-07-05 || License: Freeware Developer: BBC In-house | App Owner: pbryanw

BBC iPlayer is a free service that lets you catch up with the BBC's radio and television programmes from the past week.

With this software you can download BBC television programmes onto your Mac computer. Programmes can be kept for 30 days; after that they can no longer be viewed as the programme licence will have expired.

You can also listen to radio, or watch TV, as it is transmitted live using the latest iPlayer software.

I downloaded the latest version of bbc i player desktop today and when I open it I get an offline status. I have restarted my mac without any success in changing the status

New 2.0.20507 beta of iPlayer available for OS X as of yesterday. Sign up for the beta on the iPlayer homepage. Will update the iusethis entry when this version comes out of beta.

Although the streaming plays great there does seem to be a prob with version 1.4.1 for Mac and the playback of downloaded programs and playback that is less than smooth when compared to the streaming version. Hopefully the next update will fix this.
