Caffeine is a tiny program that puts an icon in the right side of your menu bar. Click it to prevent your Mac from automatically going to sleep, dimming the screen or starting screen savers. Click it again to go back. Hold down the Command key while clicking to show the menu.

Version 1.1.1 with a date of March 2010 is well in the era of Leopard or Snow Leopard, using Lion I cannot get the app to start at Login, which is a bit of a pain!

Maybe I'm nuts here, but I think you can do the same thing by setting a hot corner for disabling the screensaver, and just parking the cursor there. I do this for YouTube all the time, and it seems to work. I have the screensaver set to "never," but display sleep at a few minutes.

I avoid adding software when I can, but whatever works for ya.

best little utility ever for stopping sleep! absolutely love it. it does work on snow leopard now btw.

Thank You, i love it xx

i love caffiene <3

I've recently installed caffeine on my iMac that is dedicated to broadcasting a Live Tech Show, I absolutely love it .... Thx for such a great lil app!

Note: This app runs great on Snow Leopard!

Version 1.1 does not work with Snow Leopard when Rosetta is installed. Just activate 32 bit bit mode and activate Rosetta. Then it works again.

Caffeine is just great, this lets me switch behaviour so neatly and easily. I hope that newer versions will fix problems that haivng caffeine on doesn't always stop the computer from going to sleep with Snow Leopard

The latest version works with Snow Leopard (just submitted).
