The must have preference editor for Camino. Start finding as you type without keying "/", debugging tools, ad blocking, and more.

Note: The author recommends AGAINST using with Camino 1.5 and later, but most of its functionality remains. However, other camino plugins are close to reaching feature parity with CamiTools, so look elsewhere for now.

Camino reaches its end

After a decade-long run, Camino is no longer being developed, and we encourage all users to upgrade to a more modern browser. Camino is increasingly lagging behind the fast pace of changes on the web, and more importantly it is not receiving security updates, making it increasingly unsafe to use.

Fortunately, Mac users have many more browsers to choose from than they did when Camino started ten years ago. Former Camino developers have helped build the three most popular – Chrome, Firefox, and Safari – so while this is the end of Camino itself, the community that helped build it is still making the web better for Mac users.

Thank you to all our loyal users, and to everyone who contributed in countless ways over the years to make Camino what it was.

It's not going to work with Camino 1.5+ - good as dead I'm afraid.

To those interested in running CamiTools with the latest nightly build of Camino, I have a reply from the new dev.:

Most of CamiTools will still work with 1.1a1 and onward. The View/Appearance stuff is dead atm, but the basic pref-setting/adblocking/etc should all still function. I plan on revamping and updating both camitools and morecamino as part of a camitools suite. Unfortunately, since I'm a student I just don't have enough time when classes are in session, so we'll see when that gets done.

Cheers, froodian

It would appear as if the old developer has given the CamiTools source to the creator of the MoreCamino add-on so either most of the features of CamiTools will be added to MoreCamino or CamiTools will continue to be developed.

CamiTools's developer has stopped working on this awesome add-on. Not enough time for it, but is in the process of cleaning up the code in order to release it to the community. Hopefully it will get actively developed as before. Like someone said, do not use Camino without it, as a matter of fact it should come bundled w/ Camino. It's that great.

dont run camino without it!
