Capo
Capo lets you slow down the music in your iTunes collection, so you can learn to play it, and tab it out with ease!
It's your music
No longer do you have to rely on the musical tastes of others to learn music. Drag songs right from your music collection into Capo to start learning them.
Detect, and Enter Chords
Figure out the chords in your music using Capo's sophisticated chord detection routines. Or, enter your own easily using strings like âbbmaj7â or âf#maj9â.
Pitch Adjustment
Capo lets you adjust the pitch of your songsâ”so you can change their key or fine tune them to match your instrument.
Music Export
Take your Capo-adjusted music with you. Export speed- and pitch-corrected audio to your iPod, and play along when and where it's most convenient.
Tab it Out!
By simply drawing atop the spectrogram, Capo will generate tablature automatically for you. It really doesn't get much easier than this!
Markers
Use keyboard shortcuts to mark verses, choruses, bridges, and other important points in your songs so you can return to them later.
Looping
Repeat difficult sections slowly, playing along with your favorite artist. Speed up gradually as you get better.
Effects
Capo lets you modify panning, adjust a 10-band graphic equalizer, and apply vocal reduction to help you isolate the parts of the music you wish to learn.

A year later, I'm doing more transcription, and Capo 2 is looking quite nice. I tried out the iphone version, and it's outstanding. The only thing stopping me from installing Capo 2 is the 10.6 OS requirement. Finetunes was adequate, but the tab features in Capo look pretty fantastic.
This looks to be a nice interface, and very practical for my purposes, but I've decided to go with Finetunes (http://osx.iusethis.com/app/finetunes), for the price difference alone.
The parametric EQ, mono switch, and voice reduction are all nice features, but are just more than I need, at a higher price than I want to spend for a very specific use.
ummm...no. "A capo tasto (from Italian capo, "head" and tasto, "tie or fret"), or simply capo, is a device used for shortening the strings, and hence raising the pitch, of a stringed instrument such as a guitar, mandolin or banjo. The term was used first by G.B. Doni in his Annotazioni of 1640" (wikipedia). Oxford English Dictionary traces the English usage in the long form capo tasto to 1876.
I play guitar, and this app is certainly a useful tool but the 40.00 price is hard to swallow.
I will certainly be buying this after it gets less buggy and more refined. One of the best interfaces I've seen in a while, and it's also something I would use consistently.
