If you need a robust VNC alternative (and free), i suggets check out for Chicken, instead of any other payment app (like JollysFastVNC)

No good at all, dead project (last updated 2006?), and when I connect to my Mac at home running Vine VNC server, I just get a black screen. JollysFastVNC recommended instead.

Stayed for quite a long time with this app, but it hangs definitely too often. I've just started looking for a substitute.

Miserable (absolutely unusable) performance on Leopard <-> Ubuntu Hardy Heron over gigabit ethernet. Had much better luck with JollysFastVNC.

Where did the developer go?

switched to Jolly's Fast VNC, which is, as you'd expect, faster.

Attempting to connect to my aunt's Windows XP Toshiba with this made her computer crash!

Is it just me that finds Chicken of the VNC to be unbearably slow and laggy, even when accessing local servers? I've resorted to installing "tightvnc" with fink and running that under X11. Am I missing something?

Amusing name/icon and does what it says on the tin.

The only issue I have is that when it doesn't connect there's no way to cancel the connection, you have to wait until it fails which can take a while
