Chimey does one thing and does it well: It plays clock-style chimes every 15 minutes on your Mac.

Sure, your Mac tells you what time it is, right up there on the menu bar. But it's nice to be reminded of the time now and then without distracting you. Chimey provides a subtle reminder of the time.

Chimey comes with a selection of pre-recorded chimes, or you can use your own custom sound files if you prefer. Rather hear your dog barking than chimes? No problem!

OS X developers need to stop charging for every single little line of code. I'm sure there's a lot of work behind this application, but charging for it really makes no sense. Granted, there is plenty of room for commercial utilities, like your other app MondoMouse.

Might be worth $1, $2 tops. But $13 for the customization of a single sound? Oh my...

i like the idea,

You can setup a cron job with mplayer for the same thing (if you dont need the gui)

1xn, no it is not a system feature.

man9, you could ask a similar question about almost any Mac app that you don't personally find interesting. If you don't want the chimes, don't use it, but some people seem to like it.

lokheed, the comment about a dog was a joke. Maybe I should have added a big smiley face to it.

isn't that already a system feature ????

I could go my entire life without hearing a dog bark. Why don't you add a baby's cry???

And to charge for this feature? Yeeah, good luck with that... LOL... dunkoff!

Why would anybody want to hear clock-style chimes every 15 minutes on the Mac? Or dog barking?
