Version: December 2006 (Intel || Release Date: 2007-03-04 || License: Freeware

A codec pack which bundles Quicktime Library components including A52, AC3, AVI, DivX, Flip4Mac, Perian, and XviD. This can fix the Quicktime error stating "Some necessary QuickTime software is missing." Installation instructions from the download site: "You're going to want to download the zip, extract it and move all of the .component files to /Library/Quicktime. The easiest way to get there, is open finder and do the following key combo: apple key + shift + g, and paste in this path: “/Library/Quicktime” and hit enter. From there, just drag the files into that folder and you'll be good to go!"

From the developer, on 2006-12-27:
Perian advertises itself as the “swiss knife for QuickTime components”. It’s not. I’ve had terrible experiences with it, it’s XviD and DivX support are terrible. This package included Perian, because it does play some stuff, but it also includes the native intel builds for AC3 audio/XviD Video as well as DivX, WMV, etc..

There are two versions: one for Intel Mac's, the other for PowerPC Mac's.

This is a great codec pack since it applies to FrontRow as well.

Sweet. This is going to stay on my USB drive so I can give it to people who don't have enough codecs :D I've already got a half-dozen PC packs for various needs, but this could be handy for Mac-using friends.
