STOP! Your Mac may have better UPS software already. Check by connecting the 110 VAC and USB cables between your computer and UPS. Look at your toolbar at the top of the screen. If you see a small rectangle with a lightning bolt within, you have UPS software. Using "System Preferences" select "Energy Saver", then in "Settings for:" select "UPS", then select "UPS" in the "Sleep - UPS - Options" bar. Choose one of the three shutdown options. You do not need ComApcPowerChutePref.
