Simple, powerful, attractive. I use it in combination with MAMP and Cyberduck to code PHP.

this is a universal binary now, it says so in the change-log, but does not display the universal binary icon above the app. just thought i would mention it. i use this on my leopard box instead of textwrangler (which i use on the system i kept tiger on) and it's a fantastic little code editor, not as many "bells & whistles" as textwrangler, but certainly a well put together application, i use it mainly to edit source for which xcode would be unnecessary to use, like command-line java apps, css, javascript etc... try it out if you're looking for a stable, no nonsense coding app.

Despite it being a Japanese page, and obviously oriented for the Japanese programmer, there's a lot of good stuff here. Simple, clean interface, but with a lot of (surprisingly easily) modifiable sections. Many developers could learn a thing or two from this app.
I also don't notice any Japanese sections, and the translation is very good (not perfect, but better than some American apps even). Give it a try if you need a basic coding app. There's even fully-modifyable keyboard shortcuts for just about everything.

This app most likely has a dedicated spot on my HD from now on.

from the google translate of that page (http://tinyurl.com/jsdwf)

"It is the editor who reads and writes the plain text file.
...GPL (the free software) is."
