A Dialog pops up telling you that a terminal window is going to appear, and that you should input your password, except your typing will be invisable. After I typed in my password, I got a beach ball that wouldn't go away. Finally, I got a dialog that said something about applescript timeout. I had to trash this program.

yes you could but, then you wouldn't be using the latets OS. Tiger is more than just Dashboard and Spotlight. I could do without Dashboard most of the time, if this allows me to enable/diable on the fly, I'd give it a try.

Sounds like I could do the same thing with a Panther install CD.
