Disctop Pro
Very neat little app that shows the image of a CD appearing on your desktop when you insert the disc in your drive. Cooler part is that it remains up there, transparent on your desktop, with album cover art. Even cooler is that you can then control the album in iTunes right on your desktop without switching to the app. There is a preference pain that has you specify what make and model Mac you have, and it will use the correct insertion point on your screen. You can also customize the look of the CD to make it look like an old LP, etc. by downloading extras.

2 Opinions:
My bad, that's only on my Mac Pro - it only recognizes the bottom drive, it ignores discs put in the top drive. Sigh...
It doesn't seem to work for me - it shows up if I toggle the 'On/Off' setting to off and then back to on, but then it disappears and doesn't show up again no matter what I do with the CD/DVD drive.
