there's an app called "WhatSize" that does a very similar job
This is worth a donation! I use this all the time to graphically see where my big chunks of HD have gone. Stable as well.
I don't find the graphic view very useful. It's cool to see but not as helpful as something like OmniDiscSweeper.
excellent stuff.
also locates those hidden "dot" files and has the option of including itself as a contextual menu.
Cool app that easily identifies "where the hell did my 60GB hard drive go".
There is also "Grand Perspective" (http://osx.iusethis.com/app/grandperspective) which seems to do the same thing.
What Size may be a bit more efficient, but this app is just so cool. Seeing your whole hard drive laid out in front of you can be useful, interesting, and just plain fun.
