Pick for version 1.0 and up; it has also had over 100,000 downloads since the 1.0 release. Dockables increases your efficiency in using Mac by bringing key system events right to your Dock.

Dockables version 1.0.4 (the most recent version) includes the following features: Shut Down, Start Default Screen Saver, Restart, Empty Trash, Eject Media, Sleep, Log Out, Close Applications, Hide Applications, and Mute Sound.

Dockables requires Mac OS X version 10.4 ("Tiger") or Higher. Dockables is a Universal Binary Application (which means that it runs on both PowerPC and Intel Macs).

Dockables is provided to Mac users as freeware. However, we do accept Donations. If you download Dockables and find it useful, please consider giving a small donation.

I only actually use empty trash in the dock, but I agree that these work great with Quicksilver.

well... i don't use dockables in the dock, per se, but i find that they're a handy tie-in to quicksilver

i agree with ocm and bitnix... there are easy enough to remember key commands for almost anything dockables offers, or otherwise i can get there with two clicks at the most. so why waste dock space for this? i like to keep my dock clean.

at least it's free, so i can't blame it for being a rip-off ;)

Here's one up for ocm's comment.

(Dockables looks nice and all, but again, I also find this a bit overkill. Maybe expanding its functions by making it do something more unique/advanced/exotic would make it more useable. Right now, the operations is performs, does not weigh up against the easyness of carrying out the same commands by other means. Sorry for sounding sceptical, but that's my opinion as it stands right now.)

Is it really worth wasting dock space for things like this ?
In my opinion its not.
