Duplicate Image Detector enables you to find duplicates in your image collection. Image comparison is done at the pixel level, so changing image formats will not stop duplicate images being detected.

This isn't really freeware as indicated, the free version has pretty much every basic feature disabled (such as "move to trash" and "reveal in finder") to sell you the $30 pay version.
