Apple did not create this application, it was the Facebook team. However, it was probably thanks to Apple's development team too and so they threw their name up on their download site. Anywhere else, the developer is Facebook, not Apple. Also, version 1.0.5 is out now, and I've submitted the new version to reflect as such.
A plugin asking for administrative access when it really doesn't it need it to perform its task? No thank you. Somehow I don't think that people should be encouraging this kind of behaviour.
Not really -- they had Frasier Spears build a bunch of import/export stuff for them (the FlickrExport guy). Probably not too hard to get him to do these other apps.
You can go directly to a tag by searching for 'tag:yourtag'. You can also
search within the apps tagged with that word by adding another word. For
example 'tag:browser plugin'.

I find it really odd that Apple actually made this plugin...
