Fan Control

Version: 1.2 || Release Date: 2007-10-26 || License: GPL Developer: Lobotomo Software | App Owner: sebster

Do you think your MacBook (Pro) is running to hot? Give Fan Control a try then.

Some MacBook (Pro) are just to hot for daylong use. Fan Control adjusts the minimum fan speed depending on the current CPU temperature. For safety, it leaves the original automatic fan speed control intact.

The Systems Preferences interface acts weird under 10.6.7 and Lion.

I'm using this tool for Snow Leopard without any problems for months now. Great tool to cool down my MBPro.

DO NOT run this program, or any other "fan controlling" program. I work for an apple specialist, and these programs will most definitely screw up your mac. Sorry guys, but the outside of the mac is SUPPOSED to be hot, that's what keeps the heat away from the processor so the computer doesn't crash. If you are seriously worried about heat then do things right- call apple and get your computer fixed.

It sucks my macbook pro gets hot now and smcfancontrol will not work!!!

working well with Leopard (only tried command line app):

doesn't work on leopard any longer! my powerbook is dying from overheating here!

Maybe I'm missing something, but why is this labeled Universal when it doesn't work on PPC-based Macs?

Indeed; the 1.2 release works perfectly. I've filed a new version report.

This is easily the best fan management solution available.

new version was released today, check it out, works fine on my Leo

Fabulous, but 1.1 is sadly broken with Leopard.
