Tired of the limitations of iTunes music sharing, for example, the 5 user/day limit and the neccesity of constantly running iTunes? Firefly (formerly known as mt-daapd) is an open source daap server that will serve your music to daap clients such as iTunes, the Roku Soundbridge, and many others. Runs as a daemon with an excellent preference pane interface as well as a web-based interface. Automatically acquires playlists from iTunes library files as well as m3u files.

2 Opinions:
If you're running XBMC on your XBox and want to share your extensive iTunes library, this is the way to go!
iTunes 7 encrypted their sharing, so unless you stick with iTunes 5 or 6 (which can be flaky), install this :)
Wow, this has come a long, long way from mt-daapd to this. Basic operations and control sit in a neat preference pane and for the more advanced configuration options are available via a handy web interface - no more configuration file fiddeling, and way more than this: It's use is not limited to nerds and geeks anymore: Hooray!
