Flash Video Downloader

Version: 2.1.3 || Release Date: 2009-07-20 || License: Freeware Developer: Tesseract Software | App Owner: tesseract

Flash Video Downloader is an application which allows you to easily batch download and save streaming flash videos from just about any website with streaming flash videos as long as the videos are set to autoplay (that is, they start playing when the page loads). Examples of sites are youtube.com, video.google.com, and dailymotion.com, but just about any website will work. Instead of sifting through the html code of the webpage to find the flash video, Flash Video Downloader 2 actually checks where the video is coming from and download it, which will ensure that it will still work even if the page has changed. It can even download videos that require you to login to the website and videos from websites that first play an advertisement. Flash Video Downloader 2 can also download up to 5 videos at a time in order to significantly improve the overall download time.

Thanks for the help, but I'm not very computer savvy... Could you please explain HOW I would make the Flash Video Downloader work to get flash videos off of YouTube, etc.? It used to work just fine, but now it does not, and I don't understand how to "batch files."

I have tried for several weeks to download videos from YouTube with no success. Others are saying that they are having success. Am I the only one who cannot download from there?

Google Video and Dailymotion must have recently made some changes to their websites and for the moment are not working correctly with Flash Video Downloader. As I have mentioned, FVD queries http://videodownloader.net to find the FLV file to download. As a result, if videodownloader.net cannot download a file, than neither can FVD.

I've double checked and videodownloader.net cannot download Google Video or Dailymotion. I just send videodownloader.net an email telling them that these two sites are not working anymore, and hopefully they will fix it soon.

Flash Video Downloader is currently unable to download from Dailymotion and from Google Video. (I have been trying today.) It works for short seconds and then gives the information that the download was successful. But there's no FLV file anywhere.
It's able to download FLV fies from YouTube only.
(Maybe the application need some update.)

Yes, that's right... Version 1.3.2 remembers settings between sessions. No need to select the downloads folder everytime you use Flash Video Downloader.

I released version 1.3.2 a few days ago, I suggested the new version to iusethis a few minutes ago, but you can get 1.3.2 from MacUpdate. Version 1.3.2 does remember settings.

Works well and is very easy to use. And it is able to download from several websites: YouTube, Dailymotion, etc.
I have just one complaint: it should remember settings. You have to select the download location (folder) every time you launch the application.
