Don't mind, bitnix. You are just giving your opinion, and it's great to hear (building criticism, translated with translator-widget).

It would indeed be cool if I could implement that. The only way I know how is to use php with the strip commands. This is, as far as I know, the only way, because Fluther's still working on API's. But it would indeed be cooler, and helps to be more productive.

Thanks for your great suggestions. Davey.

Hi Davey. I am sorry if I sounded too negative in my comment earlier. It's a great thing to share the things that you create and find useful! Thanks a lot for doing that.

But on another note, as for the usability of this widget and similar widgets, it would be great to see some form of functionailty where you get to see some of the results from your searches, within the widget itself. One idea is to simply look through widgets such as perhaps the Wikipedia one, and see how they implemented the functionality in the code.

Anyways. Have a good time, and sorry for my negative comment below!

Thanks for you comment, bitnix.

I'm just a 13 year old kid trying to learn how to make widgets and learning how to code small apps in OSX. This is my first one, so let's say my experience-level is 1. (I know Dashboard-widgets are html pages, etc. = the 1 point)

Every time I want to make something I look around how it could be done, and I try making something out of myself. In this case, I wanted a widget for my Dashboard that could search Fluther (because it's a great source for knowledge), and I'm interested in that.

Other members of Fluther are too (so a bit like me), so they also think it's useful.

To sum up: I want a widget for myself, make it, share it with others too, and they maybe think it's useful.

You maybe think that a teenager who makes kind-of-useless widgets shouldn't place them here. Well, maybe (not)...

I don't know how to create the functions you mention, but maybe someday I will.

I am sorry for sounding pessimistic, but these widgets are simply useless...

And my honest opinion towards this type of widgets (i.e. widgets that doesn't do anything but act as yet another front window for a webpage) is that they are bloating places like iusethis.com. (Although, I'm not refering to the creator of this widget as far as being scruple-less or anything like that goes.)

Places like this might easily become victims for abuse, where scruple-less organizations create meaningless doohickeys that does nothing but market their websites.

Having said that, I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful for the work and (hopefully) future ditto of the author.

On a side note, I must confess that the tips about Fluther.com was appreciated, though... Quite cool site. But finally, just to try and mention some constructive criticism in this particular software/widget, I'd like to see:

- A way of entering user credentials (login/pass), so that you can ask and (if possible) answer questions from within the widget itself!

- Incorporate a scroll bar and interface components, which could help making the widget more of a tool, than a static one.
