Google Chrome runs web pages and applications with lightning speed.

Google Chrome is a web browser under development by Google, created to be a modern platform for web pages and applications. It utilizes very fast loading of web pages and has a V8 engine, which is a custom built JavaScript engine. Because Google has used parts from Apple's Safari and Firefox browsers, they are making the entire project open source.

Chrome… based on the open-source project of Chromium. Google Chrome has revolutionised the design of web browsers. Have you seen how IE9 and FF5 completely remodelled their designs to be minimalistic like Chrome?

Google Chrome despite being lightning fast on fast computers, is very slow on old old ones (slower than IE even)…

Google Chrome is an essential app for any recent Mac :)

Chrome has become the worst memory hog ever. Opening the same 10 bookmarks on a cold launch: Safari 5: 612MB, Firefox 4: 504MB, Google Chrome 12: 2.4 GB (includes all the subprocesses Chrome is running).

That's just not funny anymore.

Great browser, feels really fast and minimal, and I love the tabbed interface.

Buggy, buggy up to the point that it can bring your whole system down. It looks nice, is speedy when it works but it really messes up your system.

Don't believe me?

Even if you think it works on your mac just launch Console and watch the constant stream of errormessages from Chrome for yourself.

Want a fast Safari alternative use Opera.

I've been off-and-on with Chrome, but it's currently my go-to browser. It starts quicker than Firefox, feels more minimal, and I like the "one process per tab" crash protection. I first set it aside after realizing that extensions weren't available under OSX, then when it wasn't behaving well with my employer's Outlook Web Access. Neither concern now applies.

not quite as polished as the windows version, but still very fast

Latest version destroys Safari and Firefox. No contest, this is the best browser ever made.

It's getting quite nice. For stability purposes I prefer to stay away from plugins (I use glimmerblocker for blocking ads). At least keep firefox fanboys quiet. User interface is great, speed is awesome.

What is keeping me from using it as my default browser (instead of Safari)? The scrolling is not as smooth. I hope they manage to improve it SOON!

Great work. Very likely to be my default browser in the near future.

Excellent browser, that has replaced Firefox as my OSX default. With extensions, bookmark management and syncing now standard, it's an indispensable browser.
