They just changed the name and added a calendar menu extra, that's the only difference.

google notifier has replaced this one.

When I select 'Go to Inbox' or 'Compose Mail' it selects my broswer (Camino) but doesn't open up the gmail webpage like the older version did.

Current version (1.9.65) works fine for me. No longer asking to log infinitely or activite my Gcal account. Great app. Would be even better if it would support more than one (the default) calender...

Why would people use this instead of synching their Mail.app to their GMail account?

I also have a problem with the logging in thing. Wonder why they haven't fixed it yet...

I saw the same problem. I quit and restarted it and it stopped asking for login info. Then it started asking me to activate my google calendar every few minutes, so I had to disable that.

GMail manager does what this extension does and also allows using several different gmail account without logging in and out.
