Just to update you all on the reply I received from Mike Lary at Inventive. To be fair, the response was immediate but it was less than helpful, simply telling me that iClip was Leopard compatible and asking why I thought it wasn't. I replied listing four problems I experienced running the iClip app and iClip widget under Leopard. That was a week ago and Mr. Lary has not got back to me.
I can only assume that, as many users have said elsewhere, Inventive have no interest in maintaining iClip or supporting existing customers who paid out good money for it.
Bottom line - stay away from iClip and Inventive!
I've given up on this due to it never having been updated for Leopard. Shame, as it had some nice features. Currently using ShoveBox, although I prefer iClip's bin functionality and clipboard recording.
Just e-mailed Inventive support to see what is happening. I'll let you know if I get a reply.
Looks like this has become vaporware, switching to PTHPasteboard.
i used this every day before they forked up the interface.
Wow this is baaaaadd. I use Flashpaste on the PC and I thought, like a lot of people, that Iclip would be THE snippet solution for the mac. Far from it. 1) it's buggy. the pane will not come back to a visible state if placed at the top of the screen. It crashes randomly. 2) it has no keyboard shortcut! So you have to constantly open the drawer pane, and click that pixel-wide 'paste button' for each clip.
An overhyped app, for sure.
How does it compare with Butler or PTH ? Has anybody done a thorough comparison ?
BTW, geira: Butler isn't free, it's donationware.
This is a fantastic application! I don't use half of what it's capable of and it's still one of the first things I want to install on a new machine.
Way nice but way more overpriced
Works well, although I never use it anymore since Butler is free and has the same functionality + lots more.
