I used to use an app which did basically the same thing this one does, until I discovered that the preview-in-Dock functionality is built right into Apple's own Icon Composer! Now, there are still advantages to this sort of app, not trying to be a jerk to the dev here, but I had never heard talk of the functionality in Icon Composer before, and I wonder if other people have missed out on it as well…
