I found that GraphicConverter makes a slightly better quality 512 × 512 icon (checked with cover flow on mac os 10.5.)
NB: Copying the image icon to a folder via 'get info' also works.

odd. there's no way to contact them. their support link opens an input window but clicking send does not do anything?! anyone know their eMail? i tried [email protected]

all were rejected

thx!

I like it a lot.

My last point just stopped to be true. Fully refunded.

1) you need the commercial version in order to generate favicon.ico
2) don't expect it can handle transparent PNGs as input for favicon.
3) sadly, no money back possibility

Bitnix, there is a free lite version and a pro version. Only the pro version cost money :)

Isn't this a $12.95 priced app instead of freeware?

The main version, developed by Matteo Rattotti is now part of Shiny Frog apps.

0.5 is out. Changes:
* Support for the new 512×512 icon format
* New "droplet" option, you can now change files icon with a simple drag'n drop

This version (0.4) converts images only to icns with 128×128 resolution max. Wondering if there will be an update to create the 512px icons which came up with leopard?
