The Stocks Widget, which is bundled with your Mac OS X 10.4, can only display quotes and charts of US stocks. iStocks Dashboard Widget is a modification (aka patch) of this widget and overcomes this limitation by pulling its stock information from the public, international Yahoo quotes/charts servers. With the iStocks widget, you track stocks by their Yahoo symbols.
