Version: 5.2 || Release Date: 2012-06-24 || License: Included with OS App Owner: paul

Designed from the ground up specifically for email, Mail offers an elegant user interface that makes it easy to manage all your email from a single, ad-free inbox, even when you’re not connected to the Internet. It works with most email standards — including POP3 and IMAP — and most popular email services, such as Gmail, Yahoo! Mail,¹ and AOL Mail. If you have more than one email account, no problem. Just add all your accounts to Mail and you’ll be able to access everything from one central place.

With Snow Leopard, Mac OS X is the only operating system with built-in support for the latest version of Microsoft Exchange Server. So you can use your Mac — with all the features and applications you love — at home and at work and have all your messages, meetings, and contacts in one place.

The best mail app ever.

a little buggy in Leopard (has been crashing on me) but overall i've been really happy..

Since upgrading to Leopard, it's been freezing on me every so often...

I figure that there have to be better mail apps out there. But since this does everything I want... Well, the power of inertia is strong...

I'm sorry, I'm just a tad confused. Is there a Mail update I am too blind to see, or what?

Love it. For me it's the best. Simple and effective. Never had any issues with IMAP. I use a mix of IMAP for my main mail server and POP3 for my two gmail accounts.

If it wasn't for MailTags and Mail Act-On I would have probably stopped using Mail. It's a good email client for the most part but like has been said by others it gets the unread count wrong from my IMAP account and can get rather sluggish on my MacBook from time to time. I hope Leopard sees some improvements to Mail.

Used this for a long time. Then I got sick of it maxing out my processor, the non-stop HD reads, and many many crashes.
Switched to Thunderbird. Haven't looked back.

That aside, it really is a VERY good email client. Easy to use, nice interface, and works with everything I've thrown at it. But it doesn't seem to be a good choice for a laptop because of its processor and HD activity if you let it run too long. In that case, switch to Thunderbird, or something else. It sits happily for weeks on end without a problem. and my .Mac account don't get along very well :(

Other than that, is great!
