Barebones is one of the few developers that seem to really understand AppleScript extensibility. There have been a few features that I've wanted in Mailsmith and I've been able to add them via AppleScript, even though I'm don't know AS very well.
the fact that you can do grep searches as rules rocks.
No, it doesn't have IMAP. If you need that, look elsewhere.
I like this program enough that I use it in parallel with my (university-mandated) Entourage installation.
