Buy this app ! It has always been there for me when I needed it. If OSX Mail crashes or loses data it doesn't matter as long as you regularly archive to MailSteward. I keep a news archive for each year and store the databases safely. I now have archives of my eMails (including attachments) for the past 3 years. A great app with a very fast search facility.

Fabulous, indispensable app. Archives my mail in the background every four hours and gives me peace of mind. I never have to worry about a missing email.

Does not seem to install on Snow Leopard :-(. Works great though on 10.5. One thing to note regarding IMAP is that MailSteward accesses the offline copy of the data rather than the actual IMAP mailbox.
This may be confusing if you have Apple Mail set to not download all of the messages, i.e. it claims "DONE" after archiving 300 of your 10000 messages.

I had mixed results with the demo. It would sometimes hang.

It's the best mail archiving utility I've found for the Mac. Powerful and safe.

This works great! Im able to archive all my mail safely and securely. I keep my mail archived for anything older than 60 days. I archive anything that fits that criteria then set up a rule in apples mail app to delete it. My mail boxes stay light and snappy with all that free space. The database makes it easy to search for any old mail and you can easily import it back in if you need to. This is a way cool app to have if you get a lot of mail.
