Timer, stopwatch application.

Minuteur is an egg timer and a stopwatch. The intention was to have a timer which is simple and immediate in use. Minuteur is also very flexible and extremely configurable. Particular attention has been paid to the ergonomics of the programme. The basic functionality of Minuteur is intuitive enough to be used right from the start.

  • To set the timer quickly, type the required delay on the numeric keypad. To set a period of 30 minutes, type 3000 (for 30 minutes, 0 seconds). Type 300000 for 3 hours, or just 30 for 30 seconds. The countdown starts immediately.
  • hhmm. To set the alarm to go off at a specific time, hold Option/Alt and type the time in the format
  • To start the stopwatch, hold Option/Alt and press Enter.
  • To stop any timing, press Return, Enter or Escape.
  • To pause Minuteur, press Spacebar.

To make the most of the deeper features however, you should spend a few minutes reading the help. Particular attention has been paid to the ergonomics of the programme. The basic functionality of Minuteur is intuitive enough to be used right from the start.

For a quick reminder, you can also use Quicksilver. See macosxhints.
You can't currently manage your reminders with QS, though.

My favourite timer. Unfortunately, it requires Finder to function. I use Path Finder and leave the Finder closed all of the time. Minuteur launches Finder and ceases to function if you then quit Finder.

Fantastic design! I use it to time everything from laundry loads to how long it is before I have to get up in the morning. :)
The in-dock timer and side "progress" bar are great for helping you get an idea of how much time you have left.

I even got the PalmOS version so I can have Minuteur on the go.

And yes, I donated a bit for this great app. :)

This app is now Universal. Great !

This is one of the most well designed simple utilities that I've come across.
Uses little resources and does the job well.

I love this app for it's simplicity and elegance. It's great.

Minuteur is an interesting utility, but it'd be quite a bit nicer if it were universal. It takes a good 4 seconds to load on my iMac, which is quite slow given the size and complexity of the app. It was just updated on July 27, but it's still not universal...

I tried it for a while, but never catch. The interface is very interesting and innovative but i never got used to it. Anyway, it's great to see people trying completely new things
