MT-NewsWatcher allows you to quickly and efficiently target the articles you wish to read, with sophisticated yet easy to use filtering, searching and sorting features. The program also makes viewing and saving binaries from newsgroups easy, and works transparently across multiple news servers.

just when i was beginning to think i would have to download opera for a decent usenet client on the mac (opera has a nice one built in) i come across this gem. it is so fast and configurable plus its' binary decoding is top-notch. this application's gui is also somewhat reminiscent of os 9 applications, which i enjoy thoroughly.

I've been using this for several years. Does what it says it will do, is easy to configure and that's all she wrote.

I've used MT-Newswatcher for years, and the original Newswatcher before that. It's definitely easy-to-use, but some aspects of the program are showing their age. Would love to see it switch over to QuickTime or the Core media APIs to handle video, audio, graphics, etc.

I try a lot of software. I am always switching to newer, more powerful products.
That being said, I have yet to find a better newsreader than this.
It is truly simple to use.
