NicePlayer is now at Google Code. Lion Preview available, works great.

Like it very much. I've tried all other video players but there is no that I really like except for niceplayer.

VLC is good but has one major problem: no multiple video windows, a show stopper for me.

Quicktime X is acceptable but lacks keyboard shortcuts to navigate, also a show stopper.

One drawback compared to VLC: VLC is very light on CPU. I was testing an avi file (divx), VLC uses 10% CPU, all other (perian based) players use just over 20% CPU. VLC's built in codecs are very efficient. I hope the native or perian codecs will be improved in the future.

Seek makes it unresponsive %( If you like this one I suggest you to try Movist - smooth and fast!

NicePlayer + Perian = Heaven

It'd be so cool if there was some plugin for Safari that opened this to play a streaming quicktime video alone in it's own borderless window.

3 Reasons to use the NicePlayer:

- frameless movie window
- the "always on top" Option
- good with subtitles

...and it's free!

I just found this app. It is exactly what I was looking for in a movie player. Tested an Xvid avi and it works fine out the box. MKV did not work tho - I'll try the plugins. I remember when VLC used to display the movie like this - ie with no border, it is much nicer this way. I intend to use this for all my movie watching now, with VLC as backup for those obscure codecs. Looks like this'll be the next hot movie player on the mac - or maybe the first one ;)

I love this app. But still their are some bugs.
I hope they continue make this app better.

Quite a 'nice' fullscreen player based on QTKit. Perfect for those without Quicktime Pro, and even nice for those who have it.

Great app, with a very nice, straightforward interface.
