Love the app. However with 5.1 (and 5.2 beta), I've never seen more spinning beachballs in an app ever. Opening stencils, opening new templates... it just sits there for 3-4 seconds at a time. Omni guys... please tighten this up.
I'm on a Macbook Pro 2009 with SSD... OmniGraffle 5.2 is currently really standing out as one of the slowest and laggest Mac app on my system.
If I had to choose one application that makes me look more talented than I really am, it would be this one. I've used it to mock up book covers, posters, and brochures so quickly that my professorial colleagues think I moonlight as a designer. Powerful and wickedly easy to use, it is the Omni Group's crown jewel.
5.0 is out, price is $199,95 now and AppFresh doesn't recognize it, because the name is now OmniGraffle Professional 5.

I use it for layered documents. I can't believe how well it works. Unparalleled.
I enjoyed every day I designed diagrams for my diploma thesis with it. Unlike the Visio users I know, I never got frustrated because something didn't work out.
I obtained a 3.x version and got the 4.x upgrade for free - nice.
Love the alpha channels. Visio can't touch this.
This is a fantastic tool. It beats Visio hands down and is very easy and intuitive to use.
