It seems as if this app doesn't exist anymore...

I use my mac as an alarm clock and every morning it starts up and turns on iTunes party shuffle and PearLyrics. So every morning i get a few more lyrics added to my iTunes library.

I tried V0_6_3 on 10.5.2
Nice. One issue though: when 'Enable caching' is unchecked, it keeps creating txt files (in 'Application Support')

Yes, PearLyrics is alive again and Universal !!!. Great news, as I agree to it being the best lyrics fetcher out there.
NOTE : The website of the develloper says that PearLyrics is dead, but on he 12 of feb 2008, PearLyrics has been updated on Macupdate.com and can be downloaded there (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/18354/pearlyrics).

Google seems to be blocking these searches now. It seems you can do a Google search while this is running, enter a captcha, then it works for a little bit. But now, it's mostly broken. Please bring it back, google...

I use it with Safari 3 (Beta) and it works perfectly fine . . .

doesn't work with Safari 3

My favorite lyric grabber of all time. Simply hides in the Dashboard and auto grabs everything I listen to, love it.

Still available via macupdate.

Better than Harmonic, which looks pretty, but I got fed up with it's:
*inability to fetch the correct lyrics
*inability to cope with '&' and other odd characters or accents
*continually storing things like "we suggest you use lyricsdir for your lyrics..." instead of the actual song lyrics into the track/iTunes
*continually changing their minds re:"which database to use" thus forcing you to continually hunt for upgrades (the last one is not even available on their own site...database down) because until you do, "we suggest you use lyricsdir for your lyrics..." and "NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE" keep appearing instead
*only relying on one or two databases.

In contrast, PearLyrics:
*relies on several databases
*correctly fetches lyrics most of the time
*has no problem with non-standard characters or accents
*gives you the option of overwriting existing lyrics or not
*lets you reject the lyrics if they are wrong and search google for them
*has a standalone app as well if you need it

Overall the best lyric fetcher out there then....

This is the BEST lyric + iTunes tool out there. The download comes with a widget and a standalone app. It automatically adds lyrics to most songs into the "Lyrics" tab of a track's "Get Info" screen.
