Opinions:
I just banned VLC, not because VLC is bad, but beacause I only want to have one media-player :-).
THIS IS THE BEST.
@ecable: try mplayer
Essential.
Coupled with Quicktime Pro, this becomes the ultimate conversion software.
Excellent! It does flv playback.
This just won't work for me... I have a ton of AVI files encoded with XviD and AC3, and quicktime says 'may not have the components to play this, blah blah blah' - and there's no audio when I hit cancel. So wtf. Sigh... And VLC likes to crash every 5 fsckin minutes, I have NOTHING to play my videos with other than waiting for them to convert in visual hub and importing them into iTunes.
Fantastic!
With every release Quicktime gets more Powerfull then VLC!
Not that i have something against VLC, it's without doubt a great app,
but somehow nearly everytime i play something errors pop up or it crashes.
Great, stuff plays everything in Quicktime that means FrontRow that throw at it.
I just read that the Apple TV runs OS X, and that someone has managed to get Perian on their Apple TV's HD and it works.
