It's quite broken on OS 10.5 (there hasn't been any activity on the developer's site since 2006), but they have an unstable version that works better for me - 3.1b in http://opensword.org/Unstable/

Its like Paint for Mac, only better!
But it Crashes quite often for me.
This is one of those programs, that reaches so far... but not yet far enough. It kind of stumbles just before the goal line.
Why? Because of its instability. I hate to say it, but it's true.
It crashes all the time, here and there. It might work ok'ish with small pictures and very few layers, but once you start adding layers, it goes down to a crawl (at best), or it simply just crashes without warning.
I'd like to humbly ask the good developer (Andy and his friends):
Please make this just a tad bit more stable and a little bit faster... You've nailed everything in terms of functionality (nothing is left to desire), but again, stability...
I would more than happily shell out a hefty bunch of dollars for this. It's that good.
In the meantime, I've been looking for a decent alternative for creating pixel art. But I still haven't found anything satisfying. (Suggestions are very welcome.)
I really like this app after just using it once, though a few minor things bug me (all except one relating to the interface, though I'm a GUI-nut). First and foremost, it doesn't seem to like actually drawing, and didn't update the screen half the time while I was dragging the pencil across my image.

Wow been looking for something as simple as MSPaint since I moved to a MacBook Pro. I've finally found it. No more waiting on Photoshop to load for simple image editing - YES!
Best pixel art program I've ever used, and free. You cannot win more.
