PowerMate
Version: 2.1 ||
Release Date: 2007-09-30 ||
License: Freeware
Developer: Griffin Technology
PowerMate functions beautifully as a convenient volume knob and mute button for music listening on your PC or Mac. But that's just the beginning of PowerMate's possibilities. Edit movies just like the pros with PowerMate functioning as your very own Jog/Shuttle wheel. PowerMate makes editing anything from home movies to your next demo a breeze. It even comes preset to work with iMovie, FinalCut Pro and GarageBand right out of the box! In addition, you can quickly and easily program it to execute any Key Command, in any application

2 Opinions:
I don't like this new 2.0 version. I still can find how to change the general configuration.
The new 2.0 UI is nice, but the new PowerMateDaemon.app (inside the PowerMate prefPane bunde; replaces the old /Library/Application Support/PowerMateDriver.app) has REMOVED AppleScript support, so the UI is ALL you'll be able to use to control the PowerMate.
They've also dramatically increased the minimum "pulse always" frequency, so while I previously had a very subtle pulse (f = 1/15 sec or so), the shortest frequency is about 1/sec (very irritating!).
Does anyone have a link to a 1.x version? :(
