A Dashboard widget that grabs radar images from the Weather Channel or NOAA and displays the animation. One can access the radar for a given city in the United States or get a regional map, including several international maps. The widget has options for displaying and updating the maps, including weather alerts and the ability to save maps for a specified period of time.

For France, it only has a national map, not a detailed map for a region. :(
Very good looking, even covers Germany…
But not in detail (like Lower Saxony, for instance).
For that, I'd rather choose Regenradar.
This thing is fantastic. I prefer to see clouds and make my own predictions, because I can generally guess more accurately than the weather forecasters can (as I can do it minute-by-minute). Lots of options, lots of maps, and a simple, scalable, minimalist main interface that doesn't clutter up anything.
This app seems to freeze up while it's downloading the sattelite images. Just give it a bit; It's not actually frozen.
I use this in conjunction with BBC Weather widget to view the UK satellite info.
