I had RealPlayer years ago.
I will not install it again without having serious reasons to do that!
This new version (11 Beta) has some nice features.
You can use the built-in browser to search for videos in YouTube, Dailymotion or any other site and then you may download them with a single click.
And RealPlayer now plays FLV files and even Windows Media files (WMV, WMA, etc.).
This is still a beta version. And it has crashed twice when I tried to play a video from the Finder browser. But if you select the file (click it once) and choose "Open with...", there will be no problem. Or then (of course...) you may select RealPlayer as the default player for certain kinds of files. I have deleted SWF & FLV Player and now I'm using RealPlayer as the default player for FLV files. (Yes... I know Perian also plays them well.)
I have a nose hair trimmer. It's a lot like RealPlayer--I use it, but I wish I didn't have to. RealPlayer lacks many features that make using VLC such a pleasure. But if you want to see/hear something in Real's proprietary format, you have no choice.

Is there any other player or component that can play real content ?
Windows version is complete garbage. Mac version is actually half decent.
