DESCRIPTION
Most Mac users have a spare computer sitting right next to their main computer on their desk. ScreenRecycler now enables you to use this spare computer as second display for your Mac. You can even use an idle machine for that purpose.
Just start ScreenRecycler on your Mac then connect to ScreenRecycler via VNC from your old machine.

For what it's worth this also works on your iPhone / iPad (I presume) - install this on your Mac, and use a standard VNC app on your iPhone (like VNC lite) and you have an extension to your monitor. Not really fast enough for anything but displaying twitter etc... but another use.

This program is nice, but it's not free. Going over wifi the secondary monitor suffers from heavy artifacts when doing anything animated (expose, etc), but it's understandable given the underlying VNC protocol.
