Has some edges and glitches; does not work very well with apps like F.lux and Nocturne, flickers. I have an external monitor and prefer to adjust the brightness manually.

I love this app! Its a must have app for my iMac 24". I cant live without it anymore!!!

Is there a way to control the brightness of several screens simultaneously using Shades?

this is a must have!!! the 24" iMac is way too bright and will not dim enough down. Thank god for this application! I no longer have splitting headaches. Works great!

A few users are experiencing an issue with Shades 1.5 crashing when they upgrade.

The fix appears to be to delete your preferences file. You'll find it in your users folder under library/preferences/com.charcoaldesign.shades.plist

Sorry for any inconvenience.

I love this! Even more after I found the background version. Best brightness controller out there. Now my girlfriend can sleep while I stay up...

There is a background-only version (no dock icon) available for download on the web site:

Ew, not a dock app!

Works perfectly, but would be better if it didn't keep the icon in the dock when running.
