@ splutter:
I've just tried your build of Shiira 2.2.
The bookmarks now work, which is good because this was the main reason why I coulldn't use Shiira 2.x.
But, unfortunately, there are other items that must be corrected before it is usable daily:
1. I don't understand why I cannot chose the home page as the browser's opening page.
2. As most monitors now-a-days are widescreen, the page dock could be moved to one of the sides instead of being at the bottom of the page, where it steals useable space.
And... Why don't you use the official Shiira icon in your build? (I like it a lot.)

I got fed up with the pace of development and made a version that sorts out one or two niggles - mainly bookmarking - so at least it's useable on a daily basis.

Built off the last available 2.2 source code - http://david-hall.net/vizsla

2.2 runs very well on my old iMac G3. Perfect browser for the older macs! (i'm thinking about replacing camino by shiira)

Some users don't use privoxy though and will use the browser. Some basic adblocking would be nice. Shiira looks great and has some great UI goodness but it's just not up to Firefox or Safari to me.

@berdan - I agree - given that good system-wide ad-blocking is available, I'd rather see the Shiira developers focus their limited time and energy on refining the browser and UI rather than duplicate the functionality of other software. With privoxy installed, there's no need for any browser-specific ad blockers.

This new version 2.1 brings little improvement over version 2.0.
There are still some features that do not work, such as the possibility to organize bookmarks in the Shelf.
This should have been labed as a beta version and not as a "definitive" version.

Hello,

to open a window, I need to delete first the plist files. I tried to change the acl with batchmod. No change. I'm waiting for a release...

As for the "no adblocker" part, just run it in combination with Privoxy and you should be fine.

It's a fantastic browser but unfortunately it has no adblocker...
