SpamSieve

Version: 2.9.15 || Release Date: 2014-06-30 || License: Commercial with demo (30) Developer: Michael Tsai | App Owner: ccommand

SpamSieve gives you back your inbox by bringing powerful Bayesian spam filtering to popular e-mail clients. It learns what your spam looks like, so it can block nearly all of it. It looks at your address book and learns what your good messages look like, so it won't confuse them with spam. Other spam filters get worse over time as spammers adapt to their rules; SpamSieve actually gets better over time as you train it with more messages. SpamSieve doesn't delete any messages--it only marks them in your e-mail client--so you'll never lose any mail.

10 Opinions

I have 11 e-mail accounts for different work purposes and I was previously getting hundreds of spam messages slamming my inbox per day. Now I get maybe one a week that creeps in. This is by far the best spam filter I've ever used.

Hardly ever gets it wrong, best spam catcher I've used on any platform.

Fantastic. No false positives, and virtually no false negatives (unlike Mail’s spam filter, which gave me about 5-10 false negatives a day).

I have used this for a couple years now, and I hardly think about spam. Every so often, some genre of spam will find its way through the filter, but I just email my info to the developer. He's extremely conscientious and responsive.

Far better that Mail app junk filter:

Before SpamSieve: about 50 unfiltered spams/day and about 10 wrong spams per day.
After SpamSieve: about 2 unfiltered spams/day and about 1 wrong spam per WEEK !!!!!!

Apple, hire this guy!

It's great. I imported nearly 50k emails from Outlook Express on Windows into Mial.app, most of those emails were spam. In under a day I have deleted every single spam message and had lovely clean mail boxes. The only downside is the dock icon, an app like this shouldn't need to run in the dock.

best anit-spam tool I have ever used.

I've tried more than a dozen different anti-spam tools. You can read the details at:

This is the best tool I've found, easily worth the cost of the application. Works with all kinds of email clients, including Eudora.

Well written app that works seamlessly with Mail.app, as well as others. I've been using it for nearly a year, and I've had far better luck with this app than any of the built-in solutions or any of the of the commercial products I've tried or been saddled with in a corporate environment.

It just keeps working, and the developer is fantastic. I had an issue that was dealt with by one of the leads personally the same day. Well worth the few bucks to register.

You should add a "Spam" tag.
