The Apple Stickies widget is great. Open a sticky and start typing. The concept is simple enough. But the first step isn’t as easy as it should be. To open a new note in Dashboard, you have to click the plus sign to open the dock. Then click on arrow after arrow until you reach Stickies. Then drag it onto the Dashboard.

Sticky Spawn does it with one click. Just install Sticky Spawn onto your Dashboard, move it to a convenient location, and click on it whenever you need to open a new sticky note. It’s the perfect size, so it’ll never get in the way. And it doesn’t try to replace Apple’s Stickies widget. It just makes it better.

It sure beats fumbling through pages of widgets when you need to jot something down in a hurry.
