I accidentally wiped my Powerbook a while ago (don't ask!). SuperDuper saved my life. It was easy to restore my hard drive to the state it was previously in before I stupidly wiped it. Great program - just remember to backup frequently

Yes, there are free apps that do similar things, but for the price, I have the confidence that Super Duper is doing what I need without having to think about it. The smart backup feature is a major timesaver!

Just got it as I too was holding out for time machine......
GREAT program and WAY easy to use!!
Set it up and forget-about-it

I haven't bought it yet due to Time Machine, but now that Leopard's being delayed four months I think I'll buy it.

I've been using this program for well over a year to make a bootable backup each Sunday and Friday night. Works great!

I was very happy to stumble on this recently. I have been itching to chuck Retrospect Express for a long time. It is always nice to find a program that, while it doesn't do a lot, it does everything it needs to do, and does it extremely well. You can pay for premium features, but the basic program is useful on its own and free of charge forever.

@blackjack75 : It's always a good idea to stop everything you're doing on your machine while you're backing it up, no matter what you're using to do it.

I have ben using SD for about six months. 3 words: userfriendly, fully featured, reliable. It covers almost any possible backup and recovey scenario and...so easy to use (vs. the competitors). It saved me from precarious situation and I am totally confident in its robustness. In addition, very reactive support and very pro active development since the last release shipped is already peparing the compliancy with Leopard. Great app ! No doubt.

This is quite simply the greatest.

As a new switcher I was looking for an easy way to do backup... and SuperDuper! is my solution. Reasonably priced and completely straightforward, it does a great job of backing up to my external FW drives.

I used CarbonCopyCloner CCC on the PPC Macs but have been using SuperDuper! ever since the Intel Macs. I didn't realize how thorough the product was until I read this detailed review comparing it against multiple back up solutions. At US$27.95 you can't afford not to have this useful application.

Excellent and detailed review here:
